Cake Stall & Duck Race

A Cake Stall & Duck Race were held on 20 August in aid of funds for the upkeep of St Chad’s church. The event raised £750. A very rewarding outcome for all who organised and contributed to the success of the day. Many thanks to everyone.

Annual Village Fete 16 July 2017

The Annual Fete was held on the village green between 12 – 4pm. It included the Swinton Brass Band and Duck Race as well as stalls selling cakes, books and bric a brac alongside amusements of a coconut shy, bottle stall, tombola and splat the rat. The event raised £1,173.45 for Village Hall funds. Thank you to all who gave their support.

Jazz & Cream Tea – 18 June

The event was to have been held in the Village Hall on Sunday 18 June with entertainment provided by Ian Miller on jazz saxophone and Dominic Spencer on piano. Unfortunately the event was cancelled.

 

Annual Duck Race & Cake Stall Monday 29 May

The Annual Duck Race & Cake Stall was held on Bank Holiday Monday. The event raised £485 for Village Hall funds. Thank you to those who helped on the day and to those who gave their support.

Planting Demonstration

A Planting Demonstration was held on 8 May at 7pm in the Village Hall at £4.50 per person with supper included. Nigel Wait demonstrated new ways to make the most of planters, window boxes and hanging baskets. The event raised £150 for village hall funds. Thank you to all who gave their support.

Quiz in Aid of Air Ambulances

A Quiz was held for the Air Ambulances on Sunday 16 April 2017  at the Blacksmith’s Arms, Lastingham. The amount raised was £686. Many thanks to all who gave their support.

Parish – Annual Open Meeting

The Parish Annual Open Meeting was held in the Village Hall on Thursday 6 April 2017 at 7pm.

 

Esk Valley Theatre 27 March

On 27 March the Esk Valley Theatre performed ‘September in the Rain’ by John Godber. The performance was enjoyed by those in attendance.

John Pilkington Talk

This was held on Friday 17 March at 7.30pm in the Village Hall. The Talk, with photos, covered a 5 month journey through Eastern Europe, Ukraine and Russia. This was John’s ninth visit to Hutton le Hole. The total raised for Oxfam was £1,102 which includes a donation from Inntravel, who also covered the speaker’s travelling expenses. Cumulatively the talks have raised £6,900. John’s next adventure will be to Eritrea and Ethiopia and it is hoped that he will return in early 2019 to relate events from his journey.

Garden Talk – February

On 28 February 2017 at 7 pm in the Village Hall Allen Richardson, gardener at Ness Hall, gave a talk about gardens and answered questions from the audience to help solve any problems. The evening included a light supper. Thank you to all who attended. The evening raised £120 for Village Hall Funds.
