A Book of Remembrance, completed and donated in 2018, is available at St Chad’s. The book contains details and photographs of the majority named on the War Memorial with just a  few exceptions where it has not been possible to find any records.

Playing Field

Below is a copy of the inscription on the Memorial Stone at the entrance to the Playing Field.

THIS PLAYING FIELD WAS GIVEN BY F J BURNLEY AND E B BURNLEY TO THE VILLAGE OF HUTTON LE HOLE AS A MEMORIAL TO THOSE WHO SERVED IN THE WAR OF 1939 – 1945 IN THE SERVICES AND IN THE HOMES AND FIELDS AND FACTORIES.

THE WHOLE VILLAGE CONTRIBUTED TO THE LAY OUT OF THE FIELD. THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION MADE A VALUED GRANT IN AID. MCML
