Play Reading 5 March

On Saturday 5 March in the Village Hall members of the Play Reading group read ‘A Jolly Sinister Jape’ by Elliot Strange. Thank you to everyone who came along to support the players. Yet again it proved to be very entertaining. Hopefully in November there will be another offering.

Bake Off & Coffee Morning 19 March

Held on Saturday 19 March in the Village Hall, in aid of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and village hall, the Annual Gentlemen’s Bake Off took place. There was a “celebrity judge,” coffee, tea and biscuits on sale together with a raffle and cake stall. The event raised £131. Thank you to all the entrants and everyone who came along to offer their support.

Cake Stall & Duck Race

Held on Monday 30 May the Cake Stall on the Green from 12 noon and the Duck Race at 3pm raised £460 for Village Hall funds. Many thanks to those who ran the event and to all who gave their support.

Village Fete 2016

The Village Fete held on 17 July was a very enjoyable event that received wonderful support and weather.

Thank you to everyone who helped, in a myriad of ways, to raise £1835 for Village Hall Funds.

St Chad’s Cake Stall & Duck Race

On Sunday 4 September 2016 a cake stall and duck race were held to raise funds for St Chad’s church. After paying costs the event raised £411. Thank you to all who contributed to the cake stall and helped to run the event and to those who gave their support to raise much needed funds.

Murder Mystery Evening

On the 22 October a Murder Mystery Evening with a 3 course meal was held in the Village Hall. The evening was a great success and raised £280 for Village Hall funds. The Committee would like to thank all those who attended and those involved in all aspects of the evening’s entertainment.

Harvest Festival Auction

The Harvest Festival Auction took place on Sunday 23 October at the Crown. Thank you to those who contributed in any way to the annual event. Although there were fewer attendees this year the Auction raised £131.75 for St Chad’s Church.

Christmas Coffee Morning

A Christmas Coffee Morning with stalls and games was held in the Village Hall on Saturday 3 December between 10-12noon. Thank you to those who organised the event and to those who came along to lend their support. £141.25 was raised for Village Hall funds.
